Academic Integrity Policy

In plain English

Rules for honest, original academic work, including AI use.

Academic integrity means the work you submit is your own and honestly represents your ability.

Expected conduct

Complete your own assignments, cite sources you use, and do not have another person complete work for you. Exams and assessments are individual unless the instructor says otherwise.

Using AI tools

You may use translation tools and AI assistants to understand instructions or check your grammar. Submitting AI-generated text as your own work, or using AI during a supervised assessment, is a violation. When in doubt, ask your instructor.

Plagiarism

Copying text from a website, book or another student without citation is plagiarism. Quoting briefly with citation is acceptable.

Consequences

First violations may result in feedback, a required resubmission or a reduced grade. Serious or repeated violations may result in course failure, loss of certificate eligibility or account termination.

Reporting and appeals

Instructors report suspected violations in writing with evidence. Students may respond and appeal within 10 business days through the Student Complaint Policy.
